Check that Vocablish may use the microphone and speech recognition: on iPhone in Settings > Apps > Vocablish, on Android in Settings > Apps > Vocablish > Permissions.

Wait for the mic to show it is listening before you speak, and say the word on its own. In a noisy place, or whenever you prefer, type instead: every step that listens also takes typing.

Definitions are written by an AI model and can occasionally miss. Open the word from Words, tap Report a problem with this word and tell us what is off. You can also add your own note to the card.

In Settings > Review, choose whether a card shows the definition (you recall the word), the word (you explain what it means), or a mix of both. In Settings > Sentences about you, choose how often you use a word in a sentence of your own.

Pick your language in Settings > Translation. A translation then appears under the English definition, as a reading aid. Practice stays in English.

Turn on Settings > Reminders > Daily reminder and check that notifications for Vocablish are allowed in your phone's settings. A reminder only comes on days you have not practiced yet.

There is no account, so your deck lives on your phone. Use Settings > Data > Export words to keep a full copy of every word, your own definitions and your progress. Restoring a new phone from an iCloud or Google backup of the old one usually brings the app's data along too.
